Online presence

Online presence, or Web presence, concerns the activity, information, and content an individual or a business has under their name on the internet, whether created by them or another party. If in the late 90s and early 2000s, having a website was enough to have an online presence, today, it takes more. Website design and development, search engine optimization, blogging, social media marketing, and web analytics are all key elements of establishing a successful web presence.

Especially after the pandemic, with more of our everyday habits moving online, having an e-presence is essential. People rely on the internet for pretty much everything these days - from choosing a restaurant or buying groceries to purchasing a car or renting a house (and even for meeting new people!). Of course, the most reliable sources are the ones that potential customers will select, and the most reliable sources are those with a strong web presence. Because the internet feeds into our need for convenience, people do not want to waste too much time gathering information on an individual or a brand online - even with hundreds of options (perhaps with many valid among them) available, they will still go for the less time-consuming one. Generally, that happens to be the business or person with a well-designed website supported by quality content, curated social media pages with good interaction, positive reviews from previous customers, etc. Even employers tend to look at a potential candidate's online presence to weigh their final decision of hiring them.

It is clear that today, a web presence is fundamental. So, what can be done to improve it?

Build an email list - Create a list of contacts you can reach out to for updates, announcements, newsletters, marketing campaigns, etc.

Improve your SEO - Take a course or hire an expert SEO copywriter to help you reach your target audience and rank higher in the search engines.

Engage with others - Be consistent with creating content and interacting with others online, whether your target audience or field experts.

Advertising - Ads are powerful tools to catch people's attention and draw it to your brand. Both search engines and social media platforms offer the opportunity to buy a space for your advertising.

Automated processes - Automated processes can boost your user experience and ensure a continuous service stream. They can also help you organize your work better!

Hire a marketing strategist - Building an online presence can be challenging. Fortunately, a marketing strategist can relieve you from the stress of doing it yourself!
